The South Harbour Sanctuary PART II

Here you see the situation a bit closer South Harbour Street is the red one.

In my opinion this is one of the sanctuaries of Copenhagen. This is one of the few secret places that still exists in Copenhagen. As you can see in the picture they are building residential buildings on Floodgate Islet, 5000 apartments in total -over the next couple of years. This means that this quiet city space is - as they often are -only is a passing thing. Today I was there for about 1 ½ hours and only meet 2 people on foot and 3 in a boat. Not much for (close to) central Copenhagen. Not a person for miles!

It is a great place for thinking and clearing your mind or to go with a good friend to hang out. It is very quiet, sunny and you get an excellent view of the small Tileworks Harbour.
I did not bring my bathing trunks today - but if you’re not too scared of seaweed (I’m not), it is clean and pure water strait from Øresund perfect for swimming – although it is illegal ( but who cares?).

The Green dots on the map mark the photopoints from the trip.
