It just goes on and on....

So now they decided to put up tv-screens 1:6 persons (! that is a lot!) - in the S-trains, I think it is a test-train, but it can´t last long until they pack these babies in to ALL the trains.
Do we need it?
Do we need information on how to behave in the train - which is one of the casts on screen. ??
Do we need more breaking news from DRupdate with no sound?

Why don´t the people in charge of this Idea ask themselves if the cool thing about trains was not the peace, the breathing space, the pause in a stressful day?
The problem with screens is that our eyes are made to react on something moving - therefore it is really hard NOT to look at it. (trust me)

..and we all know it is a matter of time before it is commercials all over these screens pointing out there own irrelevance.

all the NYC cabs have TVs now, built into the back of the driver's seat. you can opt to turn them off via a touchscreen, but they come back on again automatically after a short time period -- not even five minutes.

I hate them.

Then the OFF button looses it´s meaning - when it´s not really OFF. That is so arrogant - I mean people don´t push it by accident because I bet it isn´t easy to find.

I agree with you. Here in Southern CA our grocery store has a tv at the register now. HATE it. The gas station has one on the pump.

My question is always, WHY? Did someone watch too much Max Headroom when they were growing up?
